Mrs won't drive it with all the off road bits on and I've got no time to lane it this year. Daughters got a full on calendar with horse events so the Mrs is gonna use and abuse it and I'm having the car back to save that getting ruined.

Stripping the off road bits off on sat and putting back to standard. I'll not get time to enjoy it this year so the decision has been made and most parts have been sold.

I prefer these to my modulars, if I had the spare cash I'd have them and then sell mine. Can't believe they haven't sold yet.

Why fit 2 ways when there's a tweeter fitted as standard? Unless you unplug the standard tweeter it's going to sound screamy and harsh. Get some mdf baffles made up and fit some 6.5" components (front) 5.25" (rear). Much better sound than the standard 6x4" too

The more I drive it again the more I keep considering getting rid of the mav and getting a standard 4x4 for towing the horse

A lot has since then dude, it's basically a mk5 golf without the price tag. Excellent value for money compared to the other same chassis'd vag motors, this is my 2nd Octavia vrs the first being a mk1 which was a mk4 chassis :thumb2

This has been laid up poorly for the last 5-6 months so I thought I'd better get it fixed and roadworthy again. New cam follower, recirculation valve and a kick of paint on the wheels and it's now mobile. Few bits need a lock of paint but that can wait.

Nice day so decided to refit some of the interior panels and also sorted the bushcables. Yes they are on the bonnet but only because I have fibreglass wings plus they sit in line with the rack that there fixed too.

So today we fitted some 1" spring spacers and wound the torsion bars up a bit :thumb2 Drives so much nicer now too.

Only the sliders are done, still have a bit of welding to finish once the weather's nice and I can get it on a ramp. Lights have no rubber covers on I've discovered, I'll get some new lamp's in the summer and locate some covers. No point in this weather as they'll only fill up again :lol
