Its quite a common thing on these trucks, been mentioned on the forum often, mine went while at work, had it welded not to good but ok, re-inforced with chemical metal, bolt mod as spacer support behind plate to help prevent twisting. been ok for over 3 years now.

I had to do the offside rear arch one, had plate welded on, but I used S/S bolt with half nut inside for seat belt movement & a self locking nut externally, was spotted by mot guy last year & passed inspection no problem. So from inside it would be bolt head, washer, seat belt, washer, half nut.

Direct earth from battery would work fine just for radio & clock, some clamps even come with a fused bypass just for this purpose.

I have a Maverick so no Nats, I lose radio settings anyway with the battery isolator clamp, but was going to run a seperate earth for radio & roof clock ?

I already have one of those from a couple years back, used it to empty my fuel tank, works pretty good. :thumbs

The red one is higher amp rated. The Durite is a lucas clone, I only showed the durite for picture clarity. Position wise I was thinking offside wheel arch, loads of room to front & up, then at "tesco" you could pretend to inspect your tyre when switching :lol

Having it inside is no good when it is time to lock up so has to be external. Can't i use it on the earth like the original isolator ?
