    Bike ?

I have been very lucky in not losing one yet but I can imagine how I'd feel if I did  I've thought about a cheap GPS tracker just in case. I'm sure that any thief would disable it fairly quickly but it might just give me a couple of hours to find it. GPS/GPRS trackers that text their...

    Bike ?

I'm quite surprised by the number of fellow bike fans here. Here's my favourite but she's just been tucked up warm for the winter.

    WANTED - 2004/5 2.7 LWB Manual Terrano

No problem Dave. I know that mileage can be a concern. I'm sure you've received lots of great advice here but just to add my 2p worth, a fair few seem to have had gearbox problems (mine was quiet in 4th but noisy in other gears - mine mainly 5th before replacement), and rot... My first one (a...

    WANTED - 2004/5 2.7 LWB Manual Terrano

Too many miles? I still have this which almost fits your bill. I think the only change since I posted the thread is that the airbag light is now on - I haven't investigated yet as it's just parked up at work waiting for the snow. Open to an offer if you fancy coming to take a look/drive...

    Getting your house in order.

This made me chuckle. On a more serious note, November is the month of WillAid whereby a solicitor makes your will for a charitable contribution. I think at 50 it's probably time we went to get ours sorted. Thanks for the heads-up Rustic :thumb2 Take care, Ian

A quick science question. Fan into a funnel?

Air behaves as a fluid - just like water - the only difference is the density. So it may help you to visualise what would happen with water under the same circumstances albeit with a tap or pump, rather than a fan. My fluid mechanics is not up to the task of answering what size fan and nozzle...

Switching Energy Provider - again !

Moneysavingexpert.com have a good comparison site. I have recently switched via their system and my combined gas/electric bill is now approx £42/month with eon. This was one of those mass switch deals where they negotiate the rate for X thousand potential switchers. Worth a look.

    Hello I am new here!!!

My 2004 2.7 TDi averages about 27 mpg with mixed driving. I've tried to improve on that but driving like a saint only seems to give me about +1 mpg. Towing the caravan takes me down to about 22 mpg. Oh, and welcome :thumb2

    Roll Call...

I check in here most days for new posts and read a lot of them, but my nature is fairly quiet so I post very little. For a while there seemed to be a culture of rubbishing ideas or thoughts of those that were outside of the group of core members, but happily that seems to have been left behind...

The Jeep's first trip to France this Thursday!

I was facing this problem as I like my older cars/bikes and found the solution was a new bank account - I have never paid for a bank account before but the Nationwide Flex Plus comes with UK & European breakdown cover with no age limit on the vehicle and covers cars, vans, 4x4's, motorcycles...

Home insurance buildings and contents, savings.

I was 50 this year so tried Saga and came up trumps! Last year Lloyds was just over £200, this year Saga £89. Up to 500k buildings and 75k contents, individual items automatically covered up to £2500 so no need to list separately.

Are you crossing from Dover or Harwich? Dover still seems to be a bit of a mess at the moment. Have a great time and best of luck to you. What name should we look for in the results? Ian
