Hi T Doug. Yes, the early 80s!! That was taken on a diving trip to the Red Sea as I lived 21km from Jeddah at the time. '82 or '83. Nissan sold gazillions of Patrols to KSA in those days. They seemed to be the only ones that could pull themselves out of the soft sand. I loved the GMC...

Thought I'd let you see a Patrol from when I was in Saudi. Year - 1983!

My Patrol has done half a million km, is 28 years old, and I use it every day. Oil change every 5k km and filter every 10k km (in my dreams). Actually, it has a crankshaft front oil seal leak, so it gets a top up of fresh oil about once a week :clap. Check out the others in the area here...

...and here she is from the side. Must be at least 25 years old. Nice nick. These and the Toyota Land Cruisers were built to put Land Rover out of business, so they were made with the best materials and they didn't let an accountant near the manufacturing process.

Ooooh....just one more I just can't help myself - had to snap this one although have seen quite a few more since my last post.

Just out of interest, I looked for a Nissan Patrol 160 (built around 1989) in the British trader sites as well as EBay etc. and couldn't find ONE Trol anywhere, which must make them somewhat rare and maybe sought after as collector's cars. The attached photo should give an idea, but also look...

@micken - I reckon that AL 8029 P must have had quite a smack as those panels are heavy duty steel sheet. The passenger's door looks like it has deformed around the jamb and I wonder if the wing pushed the door back onto the jamb during the prang. :doh I'll ask them next time I'm in the workshop.

OK - will talk to him about that. With your own cars or his??

Last Pathfinder Just one more Pathfinder in front of my favourite restaurant 'El Molino' in Castril (there are more photos in www.beautifulcastril.com ).

I imagine you are all getting a bit bored with seeing old Nissans so will give it a rest. Will send photos of the 'project' one when it is finished.
