The gasket is expensive as they could only get it from Nissan, Its the one that joins the manifold to the turbo and then to the engine. I have had to have a brand new turbo due to the fact they would not exchange it with my old one. The fan blade that broke off totally knackered the whole turbo...

Well its one thing that the turbo died but the repairs have been a nightmare. Firstly it a whole new Turbo The bolts on the manifold sheared off, then they could not drill them out as they were so hard so a new manifold has been ordered, and to top it off the Gasket set from Nissan was over...

I would be inclined to replace all your tyres not just 2. Expecially if you are changing the tread pattern to an AT and even more so if you are thinking of putting on an MT.

It all depends on what you intend to user her for. If its a bit of Green Laning go for an AT, They are quiet on the road and good off road. I'm running Colway AT's (Colway has gone bust) So I would recommend you look at a BF Goodridge AT2's Same tread pattern. MT's are going to be a bit more...

Well we got the Turbo off and apart... Its not looking good, what has happened is one of the fan blades has come apart 8O This has caused the turbo to eat its self... :lol: the outer casing has split as well! 8O The companies who recon then will not take it exchange.. for obvious reasons...

It would feel fine to buy a cheaper car now, but I know I would regret it very quickly, I'll hold on to my T2 for as long as possible, and even then you'll have to take the keys out of my clenched fist with a screaming adult attached! :lol: The only way I can see me having to get rid if my T2...

To be fair mate, what with fuel prices and car tax, its amazing the rest of us are still here. I have been tempted my self, but I just love the 4x4 thing. Luckily my wife works from home and I work 5 miles away so ride to work on a 125 bike. Perhaps you could get a cheap one as a toy :wink:

I'm no expert, but would that be your transfer box that needs looking at! Sounds odd.

If the smoke clears after start up you'll just need to replace the glow plugs.

Tend to agree, my mates Landie suffered the from the same thing, I put it down to a Landie being a landie, he then changed a split turbo pipe and it went like a rocket.
