Cleaning the inside of the chassis?!?!

can I add to this? I want to do this myself, as ive got a little rust right at the back. NOw, my car isn't a sunroof model, and I thought the rear of the outer sill rusted due to the drain pipes from the sunroof not draining out of the back. soooo....the water that causes the rust on a LWB...

    odd oil/fuel leak

    odd oil/fuel leak

but is it likely that it is under pressure with the engine off? I'd say not, as it only leaks (I presume) when the engine is hot and running... otherwise id have oodles of oil lost....

    odd oil/fuel leak

not sure Alex. Best I can describe it is its like a oil sump plug, or a differential plug...so I assume its probably alright, and perhaps an O-Ring is in there or it simply needs some ptfe. I do wonder how common a thing this actually is....its very difficult to spot, and loss of oil isn't even...

    odd oil/fuel leak

hmm..looks like we are onto something! Well, my plan is to adjust the top bolt thing first - the bottom one has a spring/valve wotsit so im not touching that first, plus id loose all my oil ... ill let you know what I find, but I suggest giving yours a clean, then see if its leaking the same...

    odd oil/fuel leak

here we go - got this from MakeITFit. Clearly it shows a spring at the bottom, but that isn't where it is leaking. At the top, where the hex bolt is, there isn't any identification. What do you think, safe to undo? seems it to me...

    odd oil/fuel leak

cheers guys, definitely the oil cooler then. Thankfully it looks like its leaking out if that "blanking plug" or whatever it is. You can just see it seeping out so I assume under pressure it blobs a teeny bit more out. Its not a massive leak, but one I want to fix. As said, I will loosen it, or...

    odd oil/fuel leak

ok chaps, would you please take a look at this. Couple of days since cleaning the area, now you can clearly see the oil weeping out of that thing on the left with the big allen key style fitting on top. Me and my mate studied it, we can see oil weeping out the threads and down. I tried to...

    bottom radiator hose weeping

I suppose I could fit another on less damaged rubber, but I will see how it goes. The hose is around £30 new, so I may well invest in replacing both RAD hoses in the near future but until then Im happy its sorted! :thumbs
