All Terrano's die what would be next choice?

Another Belgian garage invention - for those of you who don't know a lot about Belgium, this country is slightly weird and Belgians don't like being told what to do by government ;)

    Right I'm Bored

Merry Christmas all! Spent all morning cleaning house (had my 3y old cousin over yesterday, great fun!). Now a quick wash, and then the parents come for dinner. As they stay overnight, probably tomorrow morning I'll try some duck shooting with my father. Nothing better to clear the party...

@Micktheshed: it can get worse, take a look at this fine Belgian gentleman parking: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMWHYBi7kG8

    Winter Tyres

Using winter tyres for years (in winter) here in Belgium - I would not go without them, on all 4 wheels. Not only for the occasional snow, mainly for driving in the rain here :) I would not skimp on them - but then again we do over 40k km every year with our normal car, quite a lot of it in...

All Terrano's die what would be next choice?

Money no object: Mercedes-Benz G-class. Nothing fancy, the 350d Professional will do nicely :) Reasonable budget, but strong opposition from Mrs perelaar: Toyota Hilux. Reality: second-hand Suzuki Jimny :)

    snow chains?

Don't know it. But fact remains, some places we'd like to go actually require to have chains (or snow socks, but they suck) with you.

    Drink driving !!

Good one! But jokes aside, don't drink and drive. Had some terrible experiences due to people driving drunk.

    snow chains?

Snow socks no option - even on snow, they last only a few miles. Proper chains are needed ;). And especially for going on holiday, the other car is a much more comfortable (and fast) thing to be in. Not to mention less than half the fuel consumption and no issues about long distance driving in...

Welcome! Don't listen to all the faff about steering wheel on the wrong side, us continentals are right :) Do you drive it in Bucharest itself? Still have nightmares about finding parking space in the Militari district a few years ago, when visiting the parents-in-law!

    Transfer Box Seal

Maybe at Euro4x4 parts in France? http://www.euro4x4parts.com/nissan_parts/terrano_2/3_0_di_lwb_diesel_2002_2006/4_transmission/T/housing_oil_seal I've ordered parts from Febest as well - good price, and arrived quickly...

    snow chains?

Stud tyres not possible, due to wear and being highly illegal here in Belgium :) I know the chains should only be used on actual snow. Chances are we will never need them, but I'd hate to be the idiot who holds up traffic because he didn't take precautions.

    snow chains?

Indeed, on previous car I practised in the garage. But we never needed them. Anyway, if there is enough snow as to make driving with winter tyres impossible, we won't be going fast :) Fitting the night before is not possible, in our case they are meant for the final few km of the journey...

    snow chains?

Any of you guys have experience with snow chains? Not for the T2, but for our family car - Seat Leon FR, tyre size 225/40 R18. We will be doing quite some miles in the snow, and don't want to get caught out in the Alps. We have winter tyres installed. I've never used chains - but even here in...

    washer pump not working

thought of that solution, but buying a new pump online was far cheaper than getting one from a breakers yard here in Belgium...

    quite a difference

Well, no, because then your arms need to be even longer :)

    quite a difference

Having long thin arms definitively helps :)

    quite a difference

after replacing all three belts. No more squealing on cold start, quite a bit less engine noise and vibrations - I wouldn't be surprised if there is slightly better mpg now as well. Belts, especially the smallest one at the very bottom, were definitely on their way out. I also found three...

    Losing power

And if it is a Hitachi MAF, it can be cleaned - worked wonders when mine went into limp mode.

    washer pump not working

Rick, would be perfect if you could send me one. I could do with the bracket holding up the wing as well, mine is on the way out. Let me know cost etc, we'll arrange.
