Don't know if its common in xtrails to under read speed but its definately common in Terranos and other motors to over read. So when the speedo reads 33mph the actual speed would be more like 30. Under reading may be illegal. 96terrano suggestion may be worth looking at.

The one I took apart was from the Mazda truck but I thought they might be all fairly similar. If I could have got one for £ 2.50 I wouldn't have bothered taking it apart. If I have to take apart the T2 switch I will do a guide.

You could try taking off the switch unit, taking it apart and see if its all intact before you get a new one. Had one that was getting very odd and when I took it apart found that the copper pieces and spings inside had come out of place. Since I reassembled it and put it back together it has...

These are said by members on here to be good for running on veggie oil though without any significant modification, especially if you have a Bosch fuel pump.

Have that oil on the back of the engine also. Don't know for sure what it is or where its coming from but on mine looks like might be poor seal of liquid gasket between transmission and engine. My guess is that some work was done on clutch or similar before I got it nearly three years ago and...
