Nah then! New Member Tenner Lighter

Rust on rear floor pan is a common fault with the Terrano. The rust happens along where some metal plates are joined because water gets into the joining. Don't think a bit of wading now and then will make a great deal of difference as it happens under normal road conditions anyway. Surely the...

Nah then! New Member Tenner Lighter

Welcome to the site. Have LWB 00 TDI Terrano II also with same issues as you have, rust on back floor pan, tyres good as gone, some rust on wings. Sadly had to take mine off the road eventhough rust is not really too bad (but would have cost too much to get it through test here in S. Ireland)...

Fao: Rick and other technical bods

I'm no technical bod I'm afraid but any chance a fuse or relay has blown? Could you start it under tow-don't know if its wise to do that or not but it was the only way a friend could start a Pajero one time after fuel filter change and about an hour of priming, sucking pipes and draining...

    Engine light

For what its worth, had a problem a bit like that for about 12 months and it would happen intermittently, mostly when weather was around freezing and I was going up a hill. Would lose power but once I pulled over, turned off the ignition and turned it back on again all went well until it...

    Washer Bottles

Correct tyre pressure should be given on a sticker on the pillar of the driver's door. Would tend to go in and around 30 myself but correct pressure is 26 to 28 depending on load being carried.

    MOT

Two long springs between the two brakes shoes but is also two small springs on the pins holding in the shoes to the backplate. Maybe its one of these.

    T2 Hub cap center covers

If you wanted to be on the safe side ask the seller to confirm that they will fit as you require and that way you can return them if they don't fit. Just a thought but have you tried taking a trip to your local breaker and see if they have any nice alloys there to fit. Should be a lot cheaper...

    Radiator Cap

Had serious water leak on mine for a good while and couldn't figure it out as water seem to be evaporating and didn't seem to leak much when stationary on the drive. Had water leak that serious twice, once due to water pump and other due to leak at top of rad. If it's not either of those in your...

    Clutch slipping.. Grrrrr!!

Same here. Seems to be a common problem. Although it never led to clutch slipping in mine only problems getting into gear. What about clutch cable? Sure it's ok as bad cable could give clutch slip. Also what about play on the pedal, wrong adjustment could lead to slipping although that would...

    Radiator Cap

You sure water pump is ok? It's not always easy to see water leaking from the pump. Any water around the top of the radiator. Is there a sponge strip of foam between the top of your rad and the front panel and if so is it wet?

No harm being safe rather than sorry if you have the time and haven't had the drums off for a while.

:clap :clap :clap :clap :clap Good result. Would rear brakes needs a look at if it takes that much effort on the handbrake to get them up to scratch?

Hey Guys! New to the Terrano!

2.7 tdi LWB great for towing but LWB can have disadvantages in tight spots off road because of its size. Vitara is a capable offroader but so is the Terrano/Maverick. There is a great feeling though when you stick the LWB Terrano in 4WD Low just as the 4WD kicks in that you don't get in the Vitara.

    Headlight problem

Definately had not used 100 watt bulbs on mine, just standard H4's, Bosch or generics. Thinking it was corroded coatings on the wires that led to my bulb fitment melting.

    What is this ?

Thanks. I was puzzled as to what it could be. You seem to be right that it makes no difference--at least not stuffed into the glovebox for the last 200 miles or so anyway.

    Headlight problem

Any idea why the bit the bulb plugs into melted? Had the same happen to me and it was so badly melted that it looked like there was real potential that the truck could have gone on fire with a bit of bad luck. Plastic covers on the wires had frayed (or possibly been nibbled by rodents by the...

    What is this ?

Same thing fell out from under the steering wheel on my 00 T2 recently also. Slightly like a brake pad of sorts with rubber padding on it. The numbers 960 are stamped on it. Fell down on my lap and onto the floor. Didn't notice any difference in driving afterwards and also had a test done since...

    Bargain 04 Terrano sport

Was wondering about that? What can't a 2.7 tow that a 3l can? I'v towed some serious weight with a 2.7 and anything heavier would be seriously illegal anyway.
