    Claire's Mini Beast!

Spoke to Pedders today... They were as helpful as they could be, but no real resolution. They did say that the measurement on their website was a typo, and shouldn't read 710mm for the front and it should be more like 690mm. (Which is a bit closer to what I had and kinda makes sense that the...

    Elty001's terrano project

Yeah, black ones over the grey for sure. :thumbs

    Claire's Mini Beast!

Yeah, they measure up great on the Patrol! The back ones on the X-Trail measure upright, but the front ones seem low.

I will take it up with them! I have always had good customer service from them in the past.

    Claire's Mini Beast!

I agree Rick. So I took all my measurements with the original Suspension from the centre of the hub, and then again from centre with the new kit on. (It fell short from the 44.5mm claimed by 10mm on the rear and nearly 15mm on the front... Reckon that would really help me out with the wheels...

    Claire's Mini Beast!

Had a quick try with of the front wheel today to determine how much inner arch we will need to remove. The offset is perfect... Looks awesome! Although I'm still disappointed with the Pedders lift at the minute... I think that I will measure all the parameters and send them an email. The...

    T31 Rear Hatch

Correct, no issues with callipers, but we do have a bit of rubbing before the wheel reaches full lock! I'll sort that out! :naughty

    T31 Rear Hatch

The standard alloy wheel have a positive offset of 40mm. I will be putting the new steel wheels with no offset and big tyres on tomorrow... I will let you know how that goes. (We have put a lift on, but I feel we've been robbed of 10mm!)

    I wonder

This is something I've always wanted to do! (Not that Im skilled enough to do something like this!) A lifted Patrol camper trailer would look awesome, from the windscreen back! Quite roomy too I bet! Really looking forward to see this project finished! :bow

    Claire's Mini Beast!

I wish they were. The bottom ones, easy to get to, the top ones not so much. (I should be thankful that there's a captive nut on one side!) :lol

Where have you gone Brian?

    Claire's Mini Beast!

I should admit right now, that I have yet to put the Pedders shocks on the back! Those top bolts were Twats and I just pure ran out of daylight... And patience! (Plus Claire needs the car for work tomorrow!) Not that I think that will make any difference to the height. :doh

    Day out Piccadilly Wood today

That looks like soooooo much fun!

    Claire's Mini Beast!

Compressing these springs is definitely an Apprentices job! :doh WIth the car back on the ground, I can now measure the results. Pedders Claim its a 1.75" (44.5mm) lift, but unfortunately these aren't the results I'm seeing! :doh The front has raised by 30mm and the back, 35mm! :( Bloody...

    Claire's Mini Beast!

Came up with a one Man solution to my problem! I got 'Jack' to help. :lol With that pushing the lower arm away from the chassis, it gave me a little more room to get that spring in! Now just to do it all again on the other side!

    Claire's Mini Beast!

With Claire dropped off at work, thought I'd just have a quick mornings graft to change the rear shocks & Springs. WRONG!!! :doh It's taking me the best part of two hours to wrestle the 1st spring out! At this point, I'm not even sure how I'm gonna get the Pedders spring in there...

    Mondeo Tw&%

I love a good puddle! Even better when people are turning round to avoid it and us 4x4 champs can wade right thru!

    Claire's Mini Beast!

As long as the overall size of the tyre doesn't exceed a certain diameter, (These ones are a smidge under 30" which I believe is the biggest you will get on an X-Trail) then all should be fine. If you go with a 17" rim, the tyre profile would have to be smaller. (I personally think the...

    Claire's Mini Beast!

We will get a 4 wheel alignment done when the wheels go on. (Something I've still not got round to doing on my Patrol and it's been lifted with big wheels on for three years now!) I'm not too worried about it, but I will let you know soon whether any of the inner arch needs to be cut away for...
