    Claire's Mini Beast!

Gave the Mini Beast another ornament for its front end and took her out for a spin on the back roads!

    Claire's Mini Beast!

Today I got cracking with cutting away the inner wheel arches! And also a little trim for the mud flaps. And there it is back together. The wheels still manage to rub on that metal seam. Obviously I can't grind that away... I don't think. :nenau It probably holds the car together!

    Patrol GR Build.

Passenger window motor picked a fine day to pack up! Just after I'd rolled the window down too! :doh Just like the time my rear passenger window did on one of our meets!

    Claire's Mini Beast!

Yes, I had thought of these... May ony go with 10mm tho. (The Pedders kit gave me 30mm, so a 20mm spacer could take me to CV joint breaking territory) :doh

    Claire's Mini Beast!

I knew that it was, but I have watched this Japanese guys videos on YouTube, and he had something custom made to lift his T31. It seemed to lift the body and non of the running gear. (Not that I think we will go to that extreme!)

    Claire's Mini Beast!

No such luck Rick... At the end of the day it's a 'Soft Roader' Still a fine machine, and I think plenty capable for some laning. :thumbs

    Claire's Mini Beast!

The X-Trail is a different beast... It has 3 modes. 2WD - The transfer clutch is disengaged sending power only to the FRONT wheels. (The rear wheels can sometimes be engaged by the ECU, for example under heavy acceleration) Auto - The rear wheels engage automatically when the front wheels...

I don't! Nor do I have the spare time to keep replacing them! :lol

    Claire's Mini Beast!

I've not seen any options for an X-Trail body lift. (Not 'off the shelf' anyway!)

    Claire's Mini Beast!

Could that be solved by bigger/longer(?) boots? I suppose I'd be more worried about the angle and popping a joint.

    Claire's Mini Beast!

So it's time for me to start putting some thought into that lift again. Given that we only achieved 30mm from the Pedders kit, I'm going to add strut spacers to the front and coil spacers to the back. I believe I have the option of 10mm, 20mm 30mm and 40mm sets. At first, I thought, "Great...

    Claire's Mini Beast!

Whilst I wait for a reply from Pedders, I thought I'd give the front of the Exy some attention.

    Claire's Mini Beast!

And yes... It's me doing all the work! :nenau:lol:nenau:lol

    Claire's Mini Beast!

The car has surround cameras, and I fear that the connection to the factory unit will be in a very specific plug or loom that wont connect to any aftermarket units. It's something I will look into next year I reckon.

    Claire's Mini Beast!

    Indeed! Very good! :lol:lol

A bit of a change from messing with suspension...

    Claire's Mini Beast!

You're not wrong! Might have to be strut & coil spacers for this one!
