For the last MOT the chassis needed a patch welding, about the size of a playing card, I am assuming that as its been in the UK 20 years the chassis must have been treated at some point, or it would have been converted to dust by now from the salted roads.

not sure how long the runners are but here a little something I knocked up at lunch time The circles will be holes drilled for weight saving and to let the air circulate so the bedding does not end up smelling musty, and also it will give the ply some flex so it should make things a little...

Its not so much the rack itself, its the feet, the only thing that seems to come close it for a high top transit, but they only seem to be 260mm, I have measured the gutter to the top of the roof, and its about 300mm so it needs to be higher than that. :eek:

How did you fit the storage system? Is it a home made unit?

Looks about the same as mine, I am too scared to take the arches off to see whats underneath :doh I have a welder, so if I have to I will repair it, but hopefully (it feels solid) it may be rust treatment and repaint. :cool:
