    My car was stolen today

Some lowlife stole my precious car. I imagine it's either been run in for scrap or ragged round offroad somewhere and then burnt out. On the offchance could you all please keep a look out? Dark blue Nissan Patrol Y60 K332 FYH. Rusty front bumper with gaffer tape over the rusty bits (looks...

    Nice front bumper

Could I have his details too please? I'm looking for someone to make me a tubular winch bumper, like the ones you can get for Land Rovers (but wider obviously to fit the 'trol) and with some kind of bash guard/steering guard possibly.

    Patrol speedo

... and sometimes works perfectly! I'll have a look at the Haynes manual, and I could maybe phone Nissan for a price on a new speedo - and see if I can glean any information from the questions/answers the mechanic at Nissan asks. Thanks very much for today Rick, the car is going much better, and...

    Sell off of national forests...

All Crown income goes to the Government. The Government pay an allowance back to the Royal Family. I believe the allowance to be less than the income. How does the government square its proposals to sell off forests (with public access) with its aim of getting us to exercise more? Where...

    Which oil?

Yup, I'll stick with Opie. I need some help with choosing and I would feel bad if they answered my questions and then I bought from someone else. It will suit me better anyway to have the whole lot come from one place and be delivered in one go.

    Which oil?

Cool, thanks. I have left a message on their answering machine, so hopefully will speak to them tomorrow morning. I was wondering if it is worth having a quick trawl round local motor factors to see if their prices would be better, but if you think they are competitive I might not bother.

    Which oil?

This is probably a stupid question. In the manual for the car it says that for a given temperature range (and I have chosen -10 to +40) I can have either 20w 40 or 20w 50. I have no idea which one would be best, do any of you know? It's an old car so I would imagine there will be wear in the...

    y 60 workshop manual ( others too )

Thanks Briggie. I looked at these. They are not in English and I didn't have the right software to unzip - so I lost interest. I have bought a Haynes manual now. Must be the Australian version as it states Nissan Patrol and Ford Maverick - which are the same car in Oz, but not here. No matter...

I think humour is one way humans have of dealing with something so horrible we can't initally process it in any other way. So, you have the Zeebrugge ferry jokes, the King's Cross fire jokes, the Fred West jokes etc. I don't think it's a case of laughing at the dead, more trying to get your...

Fuel protests could bring the UK to a standstill

I'm thinking of ideas for FB, but I MUST go to bed now.

Fuel protests could bring the UK to a standstill

Plank, yes, I did see what you said. It's a very good idea. Passive resistance, no crime committed. I think the key is in the numbers, if enough people engage in civil disobedience then the authorities can't really do anything about it, but you have to get lots of people and that is difficult in...
