I welded a cast iron lever/handle about 4 years ago and that is still solid, like I say, it looks very solid and has good penetration. I will see how it goes :)

It was the 6" spigot that comes from the fire box, where the chimney connects onto, it had rusted through and was only attached in a couple of places. I removed it, ground it down and cleaned all the rust off, then welded it with my mig, I used the mig at max setting. I'm not sure what metal it...

It could be air getting into the fuel line, check above the o/s/r wheel were the fuel lines run over the rear axle, if it wet, you may have rusted fuel lines. My one had a spell of bad running, I changed the fuel filter and it ran sweet for a few days, then suddenly dropped off again, EML on and...
