Great pics Rick! Thanks for sharing. I bet your winch was glad to get home and put its feet up...:lol

    Boost pressure

I read something about this way back when I did my research for mine. Every turbo has its own characteristics apparently, nothing is set in stone as to how it will perform. Mine tops out at 17psi before it’ll go into limp, but others can get up to and above 20psi. Of course every turbo sounds...

Isn’t that the same as a Dawes valve Martin?

    Boost pressure

Hi Zac Most of the gauges we find, will have half the dial dedicated to vac and the remainder showing boost. Find a dial with boost only. Diesels don’t need a vac reading so your dial shows boost from 0-25psi and that way is far more accurate with more positive needle movement. 3bar racing do...

15,000 post is an awesome tally for any forum Rick. Well done Sir. In fact I don’t think I’ve seen a higher count. Thanks for sharing your knowledge over the time I’ve been with this collective, I’m interested to find out more about the shoplifting side of things though! Davey

    Code Red Emergency

Thanks chaps All done, diff re-filled and under static test overnight. Fingers crossed that expensive Nissan inner seal does its job! Will report back in the morning. :thumb2

    Code Red Emergency

I fitted this total rebuild kit four years ago. Just a real pain being so busy to start leaking oil big time. My new parts arrived this week, so tomorrow afternoon it's back onto the truck and get this issue wrapped hopefully.:thumb2

    Code Red Emergency

I would ordinarily rebuild both sides Martin, but I have never been so pushed for the time available to do the job.:doh I'm currently working in Cornwall, then back to Hampshire for an installation. I'm repairing the offending side to be able to take part in Ten Tors and then off to Scotland...

    Code Red Emergency

I just went for the obvious Rick. When the oil was still getting by, that's what made me look deeper. There were no clues driving the truck that told me the bearing was the culprit and in such bad condition either.:nenau Thanks for the tip on shims. I still have some.

I was assuming the bearings were all good as well!:augie

    Code Red Emergency

The bottom king pin bearing on the swivel hub. This would make sense of the extra movement of the driveshaft through the seal then letting my oil through. What Mac was alluding to. Will get a rebuild kit on order and put a couple of evenings in this week and that should do it hopefully! My...

    Code Red Emergency

After further inspection, this could be the cause of my problem!

Good suggestions one and all. I’ll inspect the casing and check for any play on bearings and shafts. D

    Code Red Emergency

That is a point i hadn’t considered Rob. Thanks I’ve only driven the truck 2 miles from re-assembling. Worth a check in any case. Milners have sent me wrong seals before, but the that was a picking issue. I used Musashi brand on the Pajero main engine output seal and that failed within a month. D

    Code Red Emergency

Hi Martin Thanks... I’ve done these a few times before and no probs. I’ve been chatting to Neil (Wheelie) and he’s stumped as well. The only component that holds oil back in the axle is this seal, Before I ripped out the Milners seal to replace it I observed it was perfect. Fitted the Nissan one...

    Code Red Emergency

It’s only a code RED cos I need my truck for Scotland in 4 weeks time! I was seeing oil from my swivel hub, and I replaced the inner axle seal with a Milner seal (£12) two weeks ago. Bugger, absolutely pouring out from behind the wiper blades after a short drive. Stripped the hub/stub axle down...
