As I said, I am happy to keep the site as it is, and to pay my tenner, I was just trying to hold on to our old friends who get new cars. They also have a wealth of experience through their Nissan ownership to share :thumb2
I think we also loose ground in the face of social media like Facebook, people only have so much time to have fun on the net. But I don't understand how accepting £5 is any more work that loosing £10 :nenau
it would be nice to keep the old crowd on here (old as in long term not past it lol)...
I'm happy to pay my tenner, I just think it's sad to see old members go. And as they no longer need the technical help and only socialise, plus they have a lot give. A discount to keep them in the gang would be nice, this way you may get a fiver as opposed to losing a tenner :thumbs
we usually waxoyl our trucks,, in fact we have just bought 5 litres and a new shutz gun, there are some good deals on ebay :thumb2 A good trick is to stand the cans in a bucket of very, very hot water to thin it before you spray it :thumb2
It used to work well, and membership seems to be shrinking in the face of social media. having old friends stay with us at a discount has to be a good thing, even if it's at BAt21 or mods discression :thumb2
I don't fancy going outside the marque or a 4.2 really, I don't want to deviate too much from the usual fuel consumption and - with respect - the 4.2s are all a bit long in the tooth for what I have in mind for it :thumb2
In the distant past there used to be a facility for those who had been fully paid members (perhaps it could be for 2 or more years if we did it again) to stay on for half price if they sold their Nissan. Would this be a good way to keep old friends here :nenau
Thanks for the info TTT2 and Larson. It seem rot is the main problem. If I can't get a good 2.8 I'm not going to bother at all, I just don't fancy a 3.0 at all. But my old T2 is overdue for replacement and I thought of getting a van for the economy and a troll as a toy and for towing big stuff.
just an idea! would insulating the tank and the fuel lines help? as the fuel gets warm when the engine is running. Also, would it be possible to stick a 12v heating mat under the tank? or maybe one the wore from some heated gloves or heated bar grips for motorbikes along the fuel lines? All of...
Thanks, I will get a manual if I get one. and I am too traumatised by other peoples experiences (even with post 2003) 3.0 engines to go down that route. Will the 2.8 run on SVO?
I am toying with the idea of finding a tidy Y61 after Christmas, I fancy a 2.8 as the bad experiences TTT2 had with the 3.0 engine has put me off for life. Can anyone tell me the general pros and cons, fuel economy etc. and what to look for in a used one? Thanks :thumb2
