    Maverick Front Shock Absorbers...

Right - that's the security wheel-nuts loosened! A 19mm socket & long t-bar, a two-pound ball-pein hammer, one or two decent "persuasive taps" - job done! (Cheers for the socket tip, BIGSEAN! ;-) ). Next job - the front shock absorbers (hope the nuts & bolts aren't seized)...

    Maverick Front Shock Absorbers...

I didn't forget where it was BIGSEAN - the previous owner accidentally-on-purpose "forgot" to leave it in the Mav' when he...was relieved of its ownership, by a creditor... No problem, though - I'll give it a good whacking this weekend... ;-)

    Maverick Front Shock Absorbers...

Cheers, chaps! That's what I thought - bounce & return just once; these are more like a kid on a bedspring... The droplinks are fine, by-the-way; I've been told new shock price from my mate in Unipart are 28.95 each, so I've ordered a pair...though the first job is to get the locking...

    Maverick Front Shock Absorbers...

Is it just my motor, or are Terrano/Maverick front shocks quite soft? I ask, because I reckon mine have had it; I pulled into a parking spot yesterday passing over a ramped pavement, and when I stopped, the front end bobbed up & down and rocked side-to-side a little (the latter bit, I thought...

    The Mexican Maid...

...asked for a pay increase. The wife was very upset about this & decided to talk to her, she asked, "Now Maria, why do you want a pay increase?" Maria: " Well Senora, there are tree reasons why I wanna increaze. The first is that I iron better than you." Wife: "Who said that?" Maria: "Jor...

    In The Loo, Today...

Can't even go to the loo in peace, these days!!!!! I was in the public toilets and had just sat down, when a voice from the next cubicle said "Hi! How are you ?" Embarrassed, I said, "I'm doing fine..." The voice said, "So what are you up to ?" I said, "Just doing the same as you, sitting...

    Exhaust Removal - Terrano

Don't know if it's still sold anywhere, but PlusGas used to be the best for soaking & loosening rusty stuff. Heat is the obvious loosener, but flames in there would be a tad dangerous... Is there enough room to get a nut-splitter tool in there? That's a better risk than undoing them & shearing...

    Gearbox Drain Plug...

Cheers, Bri! Read & digested (not sure about the 'ketchup' idea, tho' - very saucy! :lol )

    Gearbox Drain Plug...

Well - I've got around that problem in the past by drilling another drain hole close by the original, then tap a standard thread into it (say, 16mm or so) and fit a normal short bolt and a "Dowty" sealing ring, worked brilliant on two gearboxes, years ago... Cheers, guys - I'll dig out my PTFE...

    Gearbox Drain Plug...

It doesn't take a genius to work out what calamity might befall the unwitting driver, but if a gearbox drain-plug works loose & falls out, the subsequent sudden loss of 'lube would utterly destroy any gearbox and may result in an axle lock-up by connection, yes? Very worrying, then, that I...

    Tickover Trubbles!

Sussed it - I hope! Stripped & cleaned the damper (on the left-hand end) as it was a little slippy...but all I did was refitted it, plugged the wiring in firmly - job's a good 'un! Ran fine in a ten-mile blast afterwards, so that (I hope) is that... MEMO TO SELF: "Leave the bloody thing alone...!"

    Tickover Trubbles!

That'll be the switch below the PPS, that operates as the pedal starts to lift off it, I presume? If so, I'll have a play with my switch tomorrow (Sunday) & see what happens... By-the-way - I squirted a bit of spray-grease on the PPS drum the other day as it felt like it was sticking...and now...

    What's eBay "Feedback", etc?

I guess it's always a case of Buyer Beware, as with everywhere else - just seems a bit odd in some ways. I can see many benefits, but I suspect a good few pitfalls, too. Oh, well - it's always going to be a debatable issue, eh? Everyone seems to have such different experiences...

    What's eBay "Feedback", etc?

Yep, I know what you mean! No way would I buy a car/bike, etc, off eBay without firing zillions of questions at the vendor, and if possible, visit & inspect it before a serious bid. Our lad was caught out on one purchase - it ended in the scrappy as a rusted bodge-up - so I generally use the...

    What's eBay "Feedback", etc?

Don't suppose I'll be bothering much with eBay, then, if that's the requirement - I can't be bothered with all that hassle. Either people want your money, or they don't... I can see the point in requiring feedback, but if you really want to buy someone's car and they insist on 10 feedbacks when...

    What's eBay "Feedback", etc?

Seen many mentions of "feedback ratings" and the like on eBay and mentioned on threads here - what's that all about? If you're a first-time bidder on eBay, surely you won't have a rating at all? If so, how on earth can you bid for anything if people won't accept bids from anyone with a low...

    Tickover Trubbles!

Yes, it's a Terrano-Maverick, and I tried the pedal-pot already, but all that did was mess up the ECU - it would start & tickover, but not rev (see other thread), so I reset the screw to its original position & it sorted itself out next start-up. My Ford technician told me that if you go to a...
