I thought about swapping a complete hitachi engine setup for a bosch setup. I guess to to that i need a matched ecu and loom as hitachi seems not to be odb2?

Tbabk you. Had a look abd rocker box seems ok. Lots of oil about though. Maybe from air i take area? Oil dipstick showed no oil on it today and oil light was on and off. So have topped it up. Only changed it all 3 weeks ago. No oil leaking from sump or filter.

Would bad clearance cause engine oil to be burnt off? I dont burn oil usually but when the terrano has been off for maybe a half hour then back on a get a large puff/cloud of smoke for a few seconds that smells like burnt oil. A d a tapping or ticking sound

Not got the bits no... Im not sure what happened to the wheel braket, went walkies. As for mpg i dont know, never calculated it, its a terrano though..... I no notice the needle go down slowet on veg oil. Always fresh veg never used/waste

Yes is leather and the seats leather is in good condition. No carpet though

FIXED was the intake manifold. I noticed a nissan one under my seat when i first got it last month... I didn't think anything of it. But thats the problem, intake gaskit was in bits. And welded egr closed while i was there. Running fine again now. So guess last owner knew it needed doing...

New clips. Oil. Filter. Ect all ordered. I dont have a plate for egr to cober it so will just weld the thing closed. Black smoke on accelerating. So egr....?

Thank you. I will remove intercooler and check its connectors and clean egr. Then change oil with that item number. And see how it goes....

Where is it you adjust to fix this? On my 4th terrano and e ery one of them has gone left. Last time I got less than a year out of parrelies. Even after tracking ect.

After getting now my 4th terrano other the years..... They have always been ODB-I and always just under the fuse box. This one I got the other day is still the HitachI setup on a 2001.... but the connection isn't there. So I'm confused, ODB-II? If it is, is the connection some other place?

I am but it's really nice. Very good condition. I could sell this on for more and get a bosch.
