    MOT apprehension

that is great thanks. I think it is just the middle section that needs replacing (there is a hole in the box big enough to get a couple of fingers in) but at that price I might pick up the end pipe too. The flexi didn't look too shabby so I might leave the first part as it is. Is replacing...

    MOT apprehension

thanks, I got the guys at kwik-fit just to put it up on the ramps to show me where it was leaking from, and it looks like the previous owner has already done this exact repair. I think it just needs the jubilee clips tightening :nenau

    MOT apprehension

So it's failed! There is a laundry list of minors that I need to take care of but there are 2 majors that I need to fix asap. 1. Hole in the exhaust 2. Fuel hose rear offside leaking. They are seeing if they can source a replacement for the exhaust but it might be a welding job if they...

    MOT apprehension

so if i understand the description of the fault it was the rear mount on the lower arm on the passenger side!? I have had a look and I can't even see what was repaired! It all has a surface cover of rust! I'll add some picks, let me know if I'm even looking at the right thing?

    MOT apprehension

I actually work for Kwik-Fit (not in a mechanical capacity) so I've been using my local Kwik-Fit centre for the last couple of years now because of the staff discount. The guys there seem pretty fair, so I'll have a chat to them beforehand and see what they say. I don't think they would turn a...

    Leaky Boot

thanks I might try that with the mastic strip. I think the cause is the door sill in the top corner, where it closes it's sort of folded over. Does anyone know if this is fixable? I was wondering about getting some rubber/plastic tubing, making a small incision in the sill, then incerting...

    MOT apprehension

Thanks, yes it's 'serious' rust near the break I'm afraid. Never mind a toffee hammer, i put my thumb right through it by accident when I checking it out. (i'll add a photo later). It sounds like it won't be classed as 'dangerous' then, so if I do get it tested first, at least I'll be able to...

also, does anyone know if rust within 30cm of structural parts counts as a Dangerous or Major fault?

    MOT apprehension

So the Terrano is due its MOT in a few weeks, the first one since I have had it, and I'm starting to get a little panicky. The more I look at it the worst the rust seems! I know it will need the sills doing and I'm fairly sure the is a patch in the engine bay that is close to the break pump...

    Leaky Boot

So i opened the boot today to find a 6 inch wide wet patch by the door. There are no drips from the roof and the parcel shelf is dry so I'm guessing the water has come down the channel and in from the side/bottom. Any ideas on where it's coming through/how to stop it? Cheers, Chris

    New Terrano Owner

So, I just passed another Terrano on the road today for the first time since owning one. The other driver was grinning like he'd found gold and giving me the thumbs up. Is it common for Terrano drivers to salute each other in this way? He caught me by surprise so I only managed a half-hearted...

    Roof Rails/Roof Bars

So I would have to drill holes in the roof exactly over holes in the anchor points below? Does anyone have the diagram or measurements for this? It doesn't sound like something I can eye-ball.

    I've been pinged........

Yeah, I totally get the reason for locking everything down when it first kicked off, and I think it was the right choice to make. But now I think we need to trust people to use their common sense. In the past, if I had a cold or felt like crap, I stayed at home, I'd cancel any plans I had, and...
