Boost gauge question + running problems

It appears the TDI engine will only take about 12 PSI before the ECU initiates limp mode. 18 PSI Max before danger of destruction https://www.offroadexpress.kiwi/Forums/viewtopic.php?t=20868 Page 3 Crash Bandicoot's comment.

Boost gauge question + running problems

So a bleed off valve would be a waste of time? I've used them before on diesel Merc engines with good results but would it likely cause problems on a 2.7 Terrano by confusing the ECU?

    Improving fuel economy

Resurrecting an old thread, today I topped up the tank after brimming it about a week ago. 14 litres to bring it back up to spill level after 74 miles of very short (3 mile) journeys or town traffic = 24 mpg so not great but to be expected. Did, oddly enough, another 74 miles later today on...

WANTED : Bosch injectors for 2.7

Is there a difference between the nozzle for the different power output 2.7 engines? I am trying to track down new nozzles but there seems to be a host of different Bosch nozzles that are used. Working from the Nissan part number the nozzle for my 1998 Tdi 92Kw seems to be 166207F400 which then...

Cheers Rick. I particularly like the body temp test, so simple yet so precise, absolutely brilliant!

WANTED : Bosch injectors for 2.7

I am planning to learn to refurb my injectors but would like to remain mobile. Hence does anyone have any old, knackered, unloved or unwanted Bosch injectors that I could play with? I know there is currently a full set including No 1 injector on EBay for £160 but was hoping to get started for...

Number one injector needle sensor error 34

It's only there to thin the waste veg oil down enough so as not to put too much strain on the pump. In fact, other than possibly increasing the burn rate it is of no value as it actually robs the mix of calorific value. Hence the 2EHN. Now the hot weather has arrived the amount of petrol added...

Number one injector needle sensor error 34

Yes, as soon as fuel demand was less than gentle straight back into limp as no feedback. Again yes, still using the 2EHN and various percentages of petrol in the veg oil, depending on temp, so already get some advance effect but through increased burn rate rather than actual timing. May leave...

Number one injector needle sensor error 34

Rick, I fitted a brand new one in the end. Yours I tested with a multimeter just to make sure it was OK and it read 105ohms. Then I left my busted one in the car but disconnected it from the electrics and connected the top half of what you gave me with it resting on the block. That way I was...

Number one injector needle sensor error 34

Happy to report that I am fully mobile once more. In the end I forked out the £146 for a new Bosch (made in India) injector with sensor (99 ohms in case anyone is interested) and now the thing is going better than ever. Way more responsive with almost the sensation of another power band over...

Many thanks but Rick has found something serviceable for me.

Thank you Fez Just been studying a few online photos and had come to the same conclusion but it is so much better when someone can confirm what you believe is true. My problem is only having had the car for a year I am still very much a newbie. So I think I am now at the point of accepting the...

Number one injector needle sensor error 34

So been testing things again. Cold engine pre starting resistance all over the place from 800 to 8000 ohms not really influenced by wire waggling. Cleared fault codes from last night, more waffling and resistance reading. Error only occurring if plug disconnected. Started up, all fine, a mile...

Number one injector needle sensor error 34

I am pretty much convinced that it has to be the sensor. My dread is that I replace the thing and find that it is a broken external wire. Tried it again late last night so engine was cool but not cold. Check light on when started. Revved hard but stayed on. Drove off limping but within 200m...

Cheers Toska. Solarman216 is having a rummage around for one he may have for me, if not I have tracked a few new ones down on the net. If you look hard enough a new genuine Bosch can be found for under £140 delivered. They were also available on Amazon for £122 but sold out. Mind you even that...

    Haunted Front End...

I sprayed the underside of mine with boiled linseed oil thinned down with some petrol as a rust protector and found that all my squeaks disappeared. Still pretty much squeak free almost a year later.

Number one injector needle sensor error 34

So a quick update as it may help someone if I can provide as much info as possible. Left the car stood up all day then connected up ACUtalk to clear fault codes. As soon as the dash lights came up there was no engine check light. Read error codes and cleared the NLS number 34 and ABS 87 (next on...

Number one injector needle sensor error 34

Thank you both for your replies. It's a Bosch, at least as far as I can tell. If I have Bosch MAF, then will it be Bosch pump and injectors. Round electrics screw on connector from pump so again I think Bosch. From what I have read it is the Zexell that are the piezo not the Bosch. Thanks for...

Number one injector needle sensor error 34

No good it seems as already been done, found on a South African 4x4 forum. They got it to start using a 105ohm resister but it would randomly go into limp.
