Made a Snorkel for my Patrol

Not the neatest thing, but I will make something better, just wanted to get some protection on there. I will see how it goes when it rains and if I need to rethink it. Might even put a foam filter on there. I noticed in the photo I put on, it looks like the front face of the head is leaning...

Made a Snorkel for my Patrol

Nice motor. I've just made a small hood/brow for the snorkel head, paint is drying as we speak. Hopefully that, and the drain holes in the bottom of the head will be enough. Thanks for the heads up, I'll keep an eye on the airbox too.

Made a Snorkel for my Patrol

Ahh, that's why they normally have the last part of the tube vertical to angle the head forwards and down a bit. Will prob have to cut the top tube down and get another angled hose. Though I'm thinking that making an aluminium "brow" for the top of the snorkel head and screwing it on might be...

Made a Snorkel for my Patrol

Started with some of this 83mm stainless tube. Removed the cyclone from the nearside innner wing and opened up the hole about 5mm with a dremel. Cut the outer wing with the dremel. Etch primed and top coated the edge then siliconed some edging on both holes. Rivnuts into the pillar for...

You'll soon get the chassis welded up. Is it a 4.2 ?

    Navara D22 Snorkel Template

Chain drill it. Hard work and labour intensive but only requires a drill, file and patience.

    Terrano ARB link

Hmm, well thanks for that. I will be keeping it though. I can't justify anymore loss of handling on a 90% road motor especially as I see it as insurance for the rare time when I'm driving and might have to take sudden evasive action. I prefer the added stability on motorways in crosswinds too...

    Terrano ARB link

Just wondering. Do you know that from experience ? I only ask because I do a lot of driving country roads on my commute and I hate body roll. I know all the advantages of removal for off roading, but I'm not into hardcore laning anymore. Don't forget my Trol is a high roof too, slightly...

    Terrano ARB link

If someone could do me a favour and measure up a rear anti roll bar link please. I need longer links on my Patrol for the suspension lift and from pics i've seen they look longer. Thanks in advance. :thumb2

    winch bumper, and stuff

From what I've read on here, sounds like you're a young lad waiting to get a licence, forgive me if I'm mistaken. I remember when I was a young lad. I got my first landy when I was 16, by the time I had passed my test when I was 17 I had got another. I dreamed of so many things for my motor...

    Incontinent rear washer...

Most car spares shops, including halfords. Couple of different aftermarket designs, but they do the same job.

    Post your lift/ground clearance pics

2" suspension lift and 1 " body lift. 265/75/16 tyres (32" tall) Not massive but I need to keep some decent road manners too.

    another stuck landrover

To be fair, in the first photo that disco looks like its running on something like 205 16 pure road tyres. Strange considering it has a winch fitted. But if I'm right those tyres wudn't grip damp grass let alone any mud. If you consider it fairly, on paper there's no reason other than the open...

Glow plug light on td42 24 volt

Only just seen this and I might be a bit late replying but maybe I can help. The system uses a relay and a control unit seperately. It also uses a temp sensor on the engine. You may not be aware but when you turn ignition on glowplug warning light comes on and glowplugs are working, but they...

    Insurance

Well after the most searching I have ever had to do and that includes insuring high power Skylines, with some haggling I've stayed with A Plan at £626. None of the comparison type searches would cover all the mods and most of the specialists said that the type of vehicle and mods meant that...
