Chain drill it. Hard work and labour intensive but only requires a drill, file and patience.

Hmm, well thanks for that. I will be keeping it though. I can't justify anymore loss of handling on a 90% road motor especially as I see it as insurance for the rare time when I'm driving and might have to take sudden evasive action. I prefer the added stability on motorways in crosswinds too...
