Managed to get one section in red oxide primer yesterday.

Decided to set my little shot blaster up and have a go at cleaning up the rust on the chassis. Does the job but is quite a slow process with my 50ltr compressor.

Yeah it's no fun welding upside down. Luckily i could get from the inside to weld up a fair bit of the arch.

I've learnt not to underestimate how much these things rot:lol

Got a bit more done this afternoon. Wheel arch all welded up,seam sealed and a coat of trimite black single pack etch primer brushed on the new metal.

Built myself a little carport to work under also.

Been plodding on bit by bit when i have chance with this project. Interior has been totally stripped out and i made a start on sorting out the rotted sections.

My membership runs out in October and i don't think i will bother re newing.

These are the auto locking hubs which are fitted on the earlier models.

If you have the standard 17" alloys like this then you will be on fixed flange hubs. Nothing mechanical in them to go wrong.

There's also a neutral position switch on the gearbox that I've heard cause similar issues. Still learning the 3.0ltr myself.

I've been using the mannol 10w40 mineral for a couple of years now with no issues at all.:thumb2

Have you checked the fuse in the fusebox under the bonnet?
