My brake pipes at the rear are looking a bit rusty as is the rear brake bias valve. I was wondering if anyone has removed the valve totally and linked the pipes? My valve and all fittings look as if I was to show them a spanner they would turn to dust. Any thoughts on brake pipe size too? :nenau

Be careful when you remove it, worth doing when the engine is hot, mine was that tight it cracked a Snapon injector socket. I managed to get it out and new one fitted before I noticed the socket had snapped.

Looking into buying a S2000 box for the Chevette S2000 conversion and the guy on ebay 'doesn't have a pallet '. I am on the Isle of Man and if possible could do with if I win that is to pick the box up for me and put the box on a small pallet and I can arrange to be picked up by a courier...

Well I was surprised that Nissan were a load more expensive than I thought, I was thinking 3 times the price of Milner but it was £140 something plus vat !! Milner said they get 3 or 4 people a year saying that the idlers they sell don't fit and they sell about 300 a year, the guy said to just...

I'll give them a shout tomorrow to see what they say, they have always been good in the past just the last few times I have bought stuff from them the quality isn't good (cheap) even. I have greased the anti roll bar twice with proper poly grease, maybe with doing lots of lanes it don't stay...

Well out of desperation I bought a Milner steering idler last week because I was all up for jumping on the boat and heading for the mainland to by an engine for my Chevette. I thought I would get it sent asap get it fitted then jump on the boat job done, but no the poorly made peace of metal...

I don't think the Milner ones will be as good as Nissan ones as after market things seem to be not as beasty, plus my Milner anti roll bar bushes are forever squeaking on my Terrano and I have to regrease them every 2 months and you get what you pay for. I have just had a look at makeitfits...

I am thinking of making a strengthening plate for the original idler rather than making the steering box mod. Is it easy enough to modify a steering box for that type of conversion? Have many people done the steering box mod that you know of and I don't suppose there is a step by step guide?

Does anyone have any idea of Nissan OE price for a steering idler as I need one and wanted to compare after market prices, is there an online site to look at prices as per when I had my BMW M3 I could look on line before contacting BMW plus it was handy to quote them the part number.

Belt was new this year and was tight, just noticed it slipping when out in the deep snow. I am surprised it is a single 'V' in this day and age.

Are there any upgrades for the power steering pump belt from 'V' to multi 'V' belt set up? 2.7tdi 2001 engine

Maybe it was second click that I meant but when the engine was started the blower and radio went off.

I had forgotten about Friday night and the blizzard conditions coming in through the door and soaking the dash when I was running round putting ropes on and off. I did have a hair dryer on the ignition barrel and in the trough the side of the column cover that I could get access to and it seams...

Mine was goosed and I got a price from Nissan and was shocked, can't remember if it was forty odd quid. A bit expensive for a bit of plastic with three bolts sticking out of it. I drilled it out in the lathe and made a new nylon insert and pressed it in. Works perfect.

I must remember to read my posts before posting. I did find one hiding near the lever in the middle that wasn't obvious, but couldn't see any more in the middle .

Tried to remove steering column last night but couldn't get it off, I removed 5 screws and it still could remove it. It seamed to be stuck on the left hand side by the steering wheel, Is there something I have missed or is there a technique to it?
