hello mate i had same problem on my 3.0td 54 plate,changed it yesterday,can you cancel your new one from the dealers as i got mine from milners cost £4,not a bad job to do,the one on the engine was a 27mm long socket,i would say yours is a t2:thumbs

changed mine a couple of weeks ago and im sure the thread where the nut goes on had an allen key slot on the end which made the job a piece of cake:thumb2

i had simular prob on my t2,i changed the aerial and now works fine,i suppose it must have been a dodgy connetion where the aerial screws on:thumbs

best to get in touch with your local council to be on the safe side you dont want to build it and then be told to take it down:thumbs

the breathable car covers are fine,they cost a bit more but are worth it,i got one of my mk1 escorts covered by one for the past two years and its fine,which ever classic you buy you cant beat plugs and points instead of electronic ignition,if i had the money a 68 shelby mustang:cool::naughty
