Yes hopefully all sorted now, he's also had all the fluids changed etc so should be good for a while now.

Well the jobs been done, the manifold has been cleaned out, the mechanic decided to blank off the egr and he test drove it and it seemed fine but later that evening the eml came back on so he's going to adjust the VNT screw and hopefully its all sorted, the original code was for a boost issue...

Thanks Dave i'll tell him about them, i'm hoping he might do the mods yet but we'll see.

Thanks gents, he's thinking about replacing/renewing the egr valve now as he's a bit paranoid about the mot, my friend is a tester so will have to check with him but i will pass on all of every ones very useful information as it sounds to be the right way to go, If he does replace the egr valve...

Thanks for that i'd best have a look and inform myself, he's recently spent loads on it due to the carelessness of someone else and if anything else goes wrong he may end up tearing his hair out!

Apparently they cannot be tested unless it is on a rolling road so a blanking plate in between should be fine.

Hi all, Back again with another request regarding my mates 03 3.0 Terrano, he's just had the pump rebuilt and now its thrown up an eml apparently the egr valve needs cleaning, i was just reading up regarding blanking it off but one of the posts said it can cause boost issues so what is he best...

Yep, just need to find a good one and get someone to fit it, The pumps finally off the other one now so needs to be sent away for repairs

Thanks Ian, It'll have to be done on the road outside his house, he's going to get a quote from a pro first and if too bad i may have to have a go, i've just bought a decent jack and some 6 ton axle stands so raising it to 500mm will give a bit of room, maybe some heat, penetrating oil and...

There is quite a few auto stronger axles on there with ABS but not sure what brake sizes unless all ABS axles have the larger brakes? i expect you're right about ratios, he'll be using it to tow his car trailer, when/if he gets his other one back, the pump is apparently off now and getting sent...

Yeah sorry i meant the one without the rear cover plate, so far the stronger ones with ABS all seem to be autos.
