Just put a deposit on this little run around for the Missus:augie
The vectra diesel was giving me too much grief with intermitant power loss and I'm not spending another penny on it.

You seem to have bought it from a place selling Discos..
So let me think...
Could it be a trade in, where the original owner traded an Audi for a Land Rover, if so, was the Audi owner of sound mind and body lol...:lol

Nice looking Audi, I like the sill protectors on the lower doors, it seems that a lot of Audis and Skoda's suffer from mud up the side of the doors, as they choose wider tyres than the body. This looks a realistic solution.

Nice looking motor:thumbs is it one of the 4WD styled versions just i've not seen one without colour coded bumpers before:augie As much as I loved my astra coupe I wouldn't have another Vauxhall to many electric gremlins :doh

Yes it was a trade in. The previous petrol head bought it from this garage 6 month's ago then came back and upgraded to a 4.0 bmw X5 for18k.

Yes it is a Quattro and it is the Allroad model with adjustable air suspension.
It has the 2.7 twin turbo V6 petrol engine, 250bhp 0-60 7.4s

More ground clearance than a discovery too

Last owner would have been better off with your new motor than a X5:lol Nice spec motor, was looking at A4's with the same engine until I found the T2:augie

Nice looking motor I had an aquantance who had a lovely one of these and when I was talking to him just before Christmas I discovered he had sold it.

I was a bit miffed because I had intimated I would be interested in buying it from him if he wanted to sell and he said it had taken him a while to find one as he wanted a specific production run that had the full galvanised bodywork and he would keep it for donkeys years as it was a third car that he just used for towing.

I pressed him for the reason for such a change of heart and it transpired that when it had its last service he was advised that the front wings were coming away from the bodywork. On his particular model the front wings are a plasic composite bonded material and both were coming unstuck! The cost of fixing it made him get rid so keep an eye on them if yours are of a similar construction !

P.S. His might have been the A6 version they look very similar at a glance.

Very nice car, and (for road handling and security) an incredibly capable 4x4 system. Stupidly high taxes in Belgium though, for this kind of engine. I know what I'd have instead of our Seat Leon :)

Well the beast has arrived, not quite as shiny as the pictures and with a few problems to sort out.
One of the front suspension airbags drops over night - getting that sorted tomorrow at the garages expense.
The engine temp does not get above 65-70 in normal use and the heater is cap because of it.
The garage assures me that it had a new stat just before I got it, so I assume they k ow of the problem. The specialist VAG garage will have a look at it tomorrow and try to find the underlying issues.
That said it is well quick but likes to drink accordingly.
I'll give it a week or so and see how we get on with the teething issues.
