Adult Only Content
Being a website with no age or gender restrictions, should threads with adult content be allowed on this nissan 4x4 owners club website.

Just open a adult only room, it's not as if the site is full of it, just the occasional thread, but it would help with the difference of opinions.

But to have adult content open to anyone on an open forum is wrong. |

i will go with the majority decision , but my personal view is that it should not be allowed in a open forum , also that when a thread descends into abusive personal remarks that those should be removed immediately .

how would an adults only room be monitored? how can a system prove the age of a person? it cant. The only way is via registration/credit card security i suppose?? otherwise you just have a system that requests age verification, any kid nowadays will get round that!
heres a thought...manual or automated thread checking BEFORE the thread is posted, if posted in certain forums etc./..still, VERY tricky to maintain unless you have moderators on the case all the time. |

Posting images directly into a thread which could be perceived as mild porn is not really on.
If someone posts a link to something that might offend, then as long as there is a warning I don't see a problem. We are cossetted and wrapped up in cotton wool enough in this country, lets not let the titty and flange police take over here |

Buy that man a beer What a cracking line "We are cossetted and wrapped up in cotton wool enough in this country, lets not let the titty and flange police take over here"
For what it's worth this site was started as family friendly which to the most part still is. However I don't see no kids? The rest of us adults have a choice not to read something that has a warning against it. You know what I didn't read the earlier post, I used my choice. I can still see Patboy's point though. I just wanna live and let live Jim |

what makes us all unique is the fact we all have different views and the world would be a boring place if we all thought the same ,but may i suggest ( if its practical ) that any personally abusive posts be removed , and if the needs arises then personal comments should be sent via a pm and not posted in the main public forum ? ... i fully expect disagreement with this view , but such is the beauty of individuallity .

Its bad enough being in the EU with all the health & Safety nonsense...
Can't sat this, can't say that... Don't want that on here... Post what you want & say what you want. Freedom of speech & all that... If you don't like it, don't open it... If i get a text or email i don't know i delete it... So if there's a thread you may not like, don't read it... |
