how to stop windows misting up on inside?

Is your heater air flow contol shut. This will not allow a flow of air, so the windows will mist up.

I run my AC which seems to help but the pollen filter also wants changing on mine as this causes mine to mist up but yours may not have either of these. I also keep the blower running on number 1 so that there is an air flow all the time.

Keeping the windows clean also helps - Autoglym fastglass is good. Mine mist up quicker when they are dirty, and when the pollen filter needs changing.

I always have the side vents open & pointing to the front windows. I alway drive with my window open anyway which dose help but after fitting the window deflectors I have found that the windows hardly steam up these days :smile:

All my windows steam at the moment but ive just found the problem...........heater matrix has gone 8O 8O 8O 8O

excessively misty windows could mean water getting in!

usual suspects include rear door seal and sun roof drain tubes blocked!

there is also a plate on the bulkhead that leaks i believe?

I often suffer from excessive misting as i get soaked n the rain all the time and bring damp clithes into vehilces, if this is your problem then this is what i do!

occasionaly when ot is a severe issue put a dehumidifier in the car over night. if very cold add a small fan heater to help it along.

I also use de foging spray for motor bike visors, however i have jsut bought (from morrisons) some houslhld glass cleaner with 'anti-mist' and it seems to be working well and it was only about £1.50

misted windows drive me mad especialy in the transit van as the side wondows are to far away to wipe clean fomr the drivers side :cry:

just windscreen its awful as i have to drive car at 6 am and i only go a few miles so it dont clear

your blower is running on the different speeds isn't it and not just on full?

I would check your carpets in the front passenger footwell just to be on the safe side.

One thing you can try is to keep the blower on number 1 all the time and see if that helps, also check the direction air is blowing keep it on either the screen or screen and feet.

funny, was going to post a thread along this line.

ours steams up from back forwards and heater whilst good can only just keep screen clear and part of front side windows.

not sure if coincidence but if have heater on feet position seems to steam up more as if heat is lifting moisture from carpet??.

had a lot of water in front wells in bad rain of summer though thought had dried (most) of it out.

going to try a vax cleaner, well wont hurt to clean carpets too. was toying with putting in a fan heater or dehumidifier. cant say anywhere feels wet but a rug in the boot was moist or maybe just from cold.

where are the sunroof drains, ok in sunroof guess, and where do they run to.

Hi rbrt :smile: I'm not sure it the T2 is the same but a lot of cars under the carpet is the sound deadening which has a rubber top which is against the carpet, but under the rubber is is a layer of foam (like you car sponge) & it sucks up any water & can take ages to dry out on it's own as it can soak up a shocking amount of water.

Following on from Thor's comment, on vehicles I have owned in the past, the re-circulate air control stays on re-circulate and does not allow fresh air into the vehicle, so it steams up quickly.
Check the control, as sometimes the linkage comes adrift.
Check by adjusting the re-circulate control when the blower is on full, and you can tell when the control is working as the noise changes as you move the re-circulate control.

Just a thought...
