Default wider caravans

I see uk law has been relaxed to allow towing of 'vans 2.5 metres
wide by cars under 3500kg gvw, though suspect max body length
remains 7 metres.

so some of the shorter hobby types are now legal but will now
suffer vat as per narrower bodied units.

guess another 6-8 inches will make them more spacious but equally
bit more skill required in towing even if only couple of inches either
side. I do wonder if mirror manufacturers will now make their kit
wider, or the mirror arms longer....

8 foot plank, or 8 and a bit maybe?

cl entrances should already be a minimum of 10 feet, unless otherwise
stated.

i am presuming the change relates to all car trailers.

it has been a bit unfair that rest of europe could tow these, and tow them
here.

ironic as you say bailey back to drawing board but also airstream gone
to all that trouble euro(uk)ising the silver bullet when could have now
modded the genuine article....

Its one of many reasons we went for the Limousin, it (and its stablemates) were amongst if not the widest sold in the UK. It does make a difference inside if you're over 6ft like me and like a bit of comfort

i think it's approx 8 fet 2 inches! I must confess to towing 8 feet wide caravans all over the place for years and blatantly disregarded the rules.

For those of you who have never experienced these wider caravans the diffenece in makes inside is amazing! they feel twice as big.

I am going back to using one on a day to day basis myself now!

12 feet according to the latest blurb.....part of the reason I didn't bother setting one up

our field gates are 10 feet wide, but even so turning out of a narrow lane i's a bit of a toght squeeze.

we have one 12 feet wide but turning out of a narrow lane it's a bit of bother to negotiate with a standard caravan, that's why i just bought a front tow/push bar

ok Aberystwyth.

so after Newton can take a470 north or south,
north toward machynlleth and a489 down coast
looks better road than a470 south then onto a44.

out fit is troll and 20foot van, with gramps and his
scenic and 12 foot tin tent close behind!
