hi, got a 97 tdi 90 (for offroading) and a 54 disco 3.

the 90's great, the D3 i'm not so sure!

i'm looking at getting a patrol to replace 'em both, my previous car was a nissan, and never let me down! here to do some research!

i want something luxurious that can do the buisness off road

One or two folks on here wi trols. The ones I've seen off road have been pretty good because of the wide wheel base.

Jim T

PS the heaters work on these motors too

hi troll owner here! well we thought terrano was good
til got the troll, its a superb tug, and goes pretty well
off road to say its on ht/road tyres. compared to dave's
its stock and at ten years old just sailed thru its test
today.

its a bit wide for some lanes but kept up with pals in their
tricked disco and terranos recently.

so whats a d3 like off road did lr compromise with the
evolution from SII?

Hi Ian
I too have had one or two 90s and discos , really hav'nt regretted getting a Terrano have just fitted some BFG ALTs and she performs well alot better than I thought she would have tried her around Langdale if you can get around there you'll get around anywhere me thinks I'll be adding some other toys as and when finances allow.
Kind Regards Ian

the d3 is awesome off road, better than the 90 imo, air susp. makes it nice and smooth, and the traction control and hdc (hill descent control) are excellent.

BUT i cant see the d3 working so well if abused, or in 5 yrs: too much electrickery.

looking at am 07 patrol tomorrow with 13k miles
