Anyone near Newbury?
I'm looking at a '04 3ltr T2 on ebay Item number: 130346909760, in Newbury, Berkshire. Is there any member near there that can take a peek for me? (I'm in France!) I'm not asking for an AA type survey just a look over by a T2 owner to see if this one appears pukka. If someone can help I'll get the address where it can be viewed. Post or PM me pse.
Regards CL. |

Zippy thanks a lot for the offer, you're a star.
Let's give the post a chance and see if we get any response from anyone closer than you by tomorrow pm. If there's no response, I'd welcome your opinion, if you can get over that way without too much trouble. I'll PM you when I get a reply from the seller about a viewing location for this truck. Again thanks a bunch! Regards CL |

So sorry Zippy, please forgive my ignorance but how do we view the member's map?
(BTW does it log locations outside of the U.K., e.g. France?) Rgds CL |

CL I am indeed only about 20 minutes from Newbury - I have to be in the office all day tomorrow sadly and was planning to leave for Wales Thursday night.
Colin Extreme) on Friday might be a better bet as he's passing along the M4 in the afternoon but if he can't make it I can probably defer my trip until Friday? Looks promising though as I can't see a towbar..... Let me know guys. I'm a bit suss about that price though...its at least £2k too cheap, possibly £3k and no obvious reason why??? Normally £3500 would be getting you a 02 or52 plate 2.7TDi at best.... Suggest you might want to query that and ask if theres something not being explained? |

Hi Zippy and Lacroupade.
Thanks Zippy, as Lacroupade suggests both he and Extreme are closer and willing for which I'm very grateful. I've emailed the seller for a viewing location and asked a couple of obvious questions re damage/repair & service history. I've yet (a.m. today) to receive a response. Lacroupade, many thanks for your kind offer as soon as I get a reply from the seller I'll come back to you and Extreme. And yes your right in being a little suspicious re the price, as I am! I'm concious of the old adage of 'If it's too good to be true - it probably is.' That's why I'd like someone knowledgeable about T2s (i.e. you guys!) to have a look before I splash out a few quid to Mr. O'Leary of Ryanair. Watch this space, regards CL. |

Hi Davemud
Many thanks for the warning which I haven't experienced before but then my Mac computer doesn't use Symantec. Thanks also for your good advice re HPI etc., I'll tread warily. Interestingly the index number of the truck has not been obscured - unless it's been cleverly cut & pasted???? I'm still (Midday Thursday 26th) waiting for a contact from the seller. Rgds CL |

Two things:
1. I wouldn't worry about the Symantec thing, its probably an anomaly....I've just accessed it from my high security build work laptop with zero problem . and trust me the IT in my company is more than world class. 2. You can always check that a reg ties up to a vehicle using this link... http://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/Evl...vent=link.next |
