Goodbye to an old friend
EMMA my border collie died late Sunday night aged 12 .
She was sat in the living room with us and we gave her a hug as she slipped away. She had gone off her legs earlier that morning ,by evening could just about hold her head up and wag that tail. Emma was never a bit of trouble and was always there. With a wag of her tail she would welcome all who came into contact with her. She leaves her playmate Bonnie who we bought to keep her company , Bonnie walks the house and garden looking for her. We have said our goodbyes and shed a tear. BUT ONCE AGAIN GOODBYE OLD FRIEND. RIP. Ian and Sheila |

Really sorry to hear your bad news. We lost one of our collies in June this year and she was a week short of 15.
This being one of our first two dogs, I really didn't appreciate how connected you can be to your dog and I was genuinely traumatised when it happened. We still have our other 15.5 year collie, who also has a few problems. It's terrible when you realise your dog has got more years behind them than they do to go. You get so used to them being around. Nothing anyone can say will make you feel better, but it does get a bit easier as time goes on. Regards Alan |

So sad to hear you've lost an old and faithful friend. Been through that loop too. We've just started the 'cycle' again with Oscar a (now) six month old cross breed lab/shepherd bundle of frenetic energy. We all know that they will not last as long as we do but while they're with us the joy and laughter they bring are worth the eventual angst. Condolences. Rgds CL |
