Question Welder Advice

1stly...

Thank-You tezzer for advice & help so far

But...

Thought id wake a thread up for others

Want a MIG Welder on the quick at a bargain price 2nd hand or new...

snap on dont make rubbish so i would check the spec on that but i like the idea of a gas/gasless welder so i would look at that also

Snap on don't make welders either they only rebadge them.

I am told they changed supplier a while ago and getting spares for the older models is now nigh on impossible.

I bought a cheap £99 gasless MIG from Aldi of all places a couple of years ago. Still going strong and produces reasonable welds. I know Dinky did the same and got the newer more adjustable model. If you're not going to use it alot they are a good buy, come swith a 2 or 3 year warranty too (can't remember which).

buy local so when it busts or needs spare tips/shroud etc you can get hold of them.

I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago for home, cracking little welder for the money, may not be the best on the market but the price is really good. Have read reports of them having a poor wire feed, but I have put a full 5kg roll of 0.6 through it this weekend and its working fine.

correct toolbox, wire feeder usualy lets cheap welders down.

buy the welder toolbox posted, good price, and brand new, then you can sort out a co2 bottle and regulater and away you go.

watch out for duty cycles 20%@ 80 amps = 2 minutes use, 8 Min's cooling time.
