Just got another xbox from a local guy for £20 its gone red light and E74 error , (read fooked)

just checked it out on the MS website and it is registered and still under warranty

they are sending a courier for it

you dont have to be the original purchaser apparently , but as from about 1 hour ago I am the original registered owner.
