Default Nissan Terrano 2.7 SLX

hi guys,

the Terrano SLX, 2.7 diesel. PArkers list it as 122 BHp, 23MPG. Is that right>? 23MPG seems awfully low.....

so do you think that Parkers data is wrong? its just i thought all the engines were the same in the early models, but the slx is listed as 23mpg...others are listed as 28..

to clarify-i am looking at a 1995 terrano slx. i oiginally thought that pre 96 were 98bhp engines, on parkers, it lists the slx as 122bhp, which i thought was POST 96....confused!

the TDI post 1996 is 124 hp and these do 28/30mpg driven with care, I get over 24 mpg towing a caravan keeping below 3000rpm, yours being non intercooled will be different, some one who has one will tell you shortly. regards.......bri

i think it boils down to is it TD or TDi...the former only has 100bhp approx and is slower and less fuel efficient than the TDi....somewhere theres a complete model history listing numerous variants; not sure how accurate Parkers is in this respect but they are one of the main players, along with the likes of Glass's...

ok, confirmed now I think. As I previously thought, post 96 is 98 BHP, Parkers info is slightly confusing due to them not splitting up the years in their info....so the car i was looking at £550 isnt what i want, shame/!

a quick guide, after 1996 twin ROUND headlights and intercooler vent on bonnet. I must admit when I was looking for a terrano i didnt know about intercooler , non intercooler.
It just happened that I was looking at a price range and the one I bought was in the price I wanted to pay. Keep looking there a lot out there. regards bri

when we were looking id crodded the terrano off my list early on, untill i got chatting to a man in a carpark, then had a good look at it.

picked the round headlights cause i think it looked better thank the older one. just didnt have the money for the later one.

aye, i will keep looking. I almost ALMOST went for a 1995 N Terrano today, decnt LOOKING, but of course needed ot see it. Chap had reduced his price this week TWICE apparently due to timewasters. This rang alarm bells, so after lots of thought, i figured sod it, better off buying the later post 96, round headlight model which is what i want anyway-intercooler, more power and efficiency etc.

I have a 1995 td and I get 30 +
Ok I had all new fuel pipes front to rear and new fuel pump and tank flushed through and a new fuel fillter and a full service. I dont drive mad and do alot off of road daily its a work horse.
It cost me a lot to put right due to neglect but body wise it is sound.
I lost it for awhile but now its back
