Well did not think it would be worth it but with the rain we have had last few days going to take the gamble, and hope for some serious mud on Sunday, Rick

Aim to get stuck and be completely self sufficient in extraction, love getting muddy, 2ft deep is good but rare.

OK so had a very good day regarding mud, winching and generally having fun, have to say did some very hard winching pulling out two guys that were well in, but down side, my super new rope proved to be a disaster, it snapped, but not to be beaten on this recovery put a block in such that the repair knot was between me and the block, then we bogged down another 4 x 4 and anchored the hook to him, not long into the pull it broke again in a different place, so that was the end of that rope, stripped it out and put on spare normal dyneema, and he came out slow but steady no problem.

2nd disaster after stopping for a cuppa, the motor was dead, like a completely flat battery, but on testing it was good, turned out to be the alternator fuse link, seems that this must be spliced in the loom to feed everything as well as the alternator connection as there is only the one wire at the alternator itself, but due to the time taken to sus this out it was now 3.30 so only time to find some less muddy water for a bit of a wash off before departing home confidant that every thing we did was captured on the dash cam with a fresh chip inserted on arrival.

3rd disaster no bloody video, my trusted dash cam has frozen and nothing I can do will get it to life again, ordered a new one already.

Nonetheless a damn good day but only memories of in in my head and needless to say the new super (not so super)rope will be going back, it is a shame as I did like the extra length, Rick
