Woohoo finished my last shift at 8pm until a week on Monday happy days

First week off since Easter so I’m ready for it. Trouble is it’ll go pretty quickly as I’ve a load of jobs to do. I’ve started a teaching course so got loads of course work and planning to do before 3rd November. I’ve also got my project truck to fix up ready for an MOT. If I can got all that done by next weekend I’ll be happy

What’s everyone else doing this weekend?

Well this weekend I will be sleeping with half an ear open as on call. Which means it could be really busy or quiet depending on what the good residents of this island are up to.

For me, one full week every 5 weeks is what I choose to work. But it does come round very quickly and i can guarantee any appointments etc will fall on that week!!
It is worth it for the money though but sometimes the long hours and constant phone calls get tiring.

After a long week that's included Leeds, Newcastle and Edinburgh, it'd be nice to have a weekend off. As normal it'll be a Saturday in Manchester invigilating and hopefull a bit of chill time on Sunday. I haven't really ridden the bike since August, still need to wire in the switches for the second battery and no camping since the beginning of Sept.
Next full weekend off is 18th Nov and I'll more than likely be heading cross country to pick up a roof top tent.
Then it'll be Christmas...

working Saturday morning,Saturday afternoon I'm fitting new kitchen unit doors.
Sunday i will be welding up my recently found extra vent hole on the terrano and fitting a refurbished front drive shaft.

This weekend I will be mainly trying to fix my drive gates, plan to dig up and check the power supply to the troublesome motor!

This weekend will involve continueing packing, chucking out, sorting 'stuff' accumulated over 9 years here, and boxes brought over and never opened.....

Return to UK on 2nd.....so big changes afoot....

Where you coming back to John, maybe we all need a meet up again.

Well managed to find the enthusiasm to get a little work done on the truck today. Managed to release the mangled rusted seatbelt mounting, just need to clean the captive nut from the wheel arch and I’m ready to weld it in place when I get the arch rebuilt. Got a lot of old metal cleaned up ready for fabricating new sections of boot floor and wheel arch. Tomorrow I’ll have to get under the car and do some cleaning.

Back to a home in Swansea, where I left 46 years ago......karma and circles of life come to mind here.......

Thank goodness, I seem to have a T2, that has NO tinworm, so don't have to practise my welding skills.......

I am however in awe of the effort that you are putting into this project....

You should of seen the welding we put into the old truck that was written off last year

Good luck with your move, your truck will be put to good use moving back won’t it.

Love the Terranos, dam great cars. I’m not sure it’ll get an mot this week or not but I’m back on lates when I go back to work so hopefully will be able to drop it in somewhere one morning. Looking forward to getting it’s ticket.

Question, is 10:30am too early to start my truck with just the front pipe exhaust and reverse it on to a pair of ramps?

Bit late, but no where near too early. In fact, I would start it and leave it to warm up a little so your not cold on your drive up the ramps. Distance does not matter it's all in the style and comfort

I ended taking it easy until lunchtime so started around 12ish. But plenty done preparing it ready to start cutting the rot out. Tomorrow I’m going to get stuck in to my course work and get it uploaded on to the vle.
