Talking New toy, new toy !!!

New toy arrived today !!!

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,

My cheapo USB/Android phone endoscope camera has arrived.

Packaging a bit scruffy (cardboard bag inside jiffy bag) but contents look okay.

The instructions are a bit crap, looks like they've received a shrinking ray at some point. You are supposed to download a file onto your phone, the file installs an app and that should run the camera. Er, no. The app kept stopping and a Google search revealed that app won't run on the latest Android system.

However, the same search also said to try some of the other USB camera apps. So, three apps later I now have a working USB phone endoscope!

Yeah!

The picture is pretty good, a couple of photos to follow, bear with me, I can only upload one at a time.

This is the camera itself.

This was also about an inch from the keys, but with the LED lights turned down a bit.

I haven't tried it on the laptop yet, but that's not what I bought it for.

Well worth the £10 I think, granted it was a bit of a faff to find an app that worked, but for that price, who cares?

Happy days, lots of fun to be had.

I found "Scopecam" worked. I haven't fiddled with it much, but for a tenner I'm not expecting it to produce a Hollywood blockbuster.

There are some things you just don't want to know.

I would guess that the button, when used with the appropriate app might enable you to take a snap shot on demand.

Worth a tenner though.

Most software supplied with low cost far eastern electronics, do not work that well, most are clones of clones and then reverse engineered.

That's what I was thinking, but I can just press the button on the phone to capture the image.

It's a great little camera for a small amount of money, and the bonus is if you lose it, break it, get it stuck in a 'ole, you goes and buys another!
