Facebook...
Hope this is ok...
As most of you know a group of us run a page on facebook 'nissan terrano and ford maverick owners club' whilst we have no issue with any of you joining (more the merrier ect) what we dont want is people posting link to this forum knowing full well people that are not paid member cant see and further morr then refusing to pass the info on. Im all for sharing info and keeping as many terranos/mavericks alive as possible and i hope one day for a mass terrano/maverick meet/pay and play/laning day. Yeah i understand the forum cost money to run and that some people dont do facebook ect but i think it would be great if we could all get along as such! Cheers George |

Any information that is on the forum won't be viewable unless you are a full member of the forum. I could understand that somebody may have posted a link to the forum in a Facebook post not realising that said person who clicked on the link wouldn't be able to see the information. I would hope that this isn't being done in a malicious fashion wherby the poster knew that the person clicking the link wouldn't be able to see the link in some plot to get a membership, although it is a damn good idea Frustrating as it may be, if the person that has posted the link has found it useful enough to pass on to someone else, that information could save the person a fortune in some cases and as such resources like that and knowledge is worth contributing towards, we try our damned best to try and make this place the best Nissan knowledge base on the net. All I can suggest from an admin point of view is that if this kind of behavior continues then I would ban that user from your Facebook group

I've only recently joined the face ache group, was when we had the big switch over, and some of the posts and pictures have been an interesting read but I'm a forum user through and through, TO THE CORE!
Nothing against you face ache terrano/maverick owners though, I just don't like face ache. Can't even bare to say the word. It's all to do with the constant drivel people post. Like, " Oh no I've ran out of baked beans so I'm off for a 5k run and when I get back I've got to stain the fence! " Who cares. |

Incredible how £10 sorts the men from the boys, I don't usually rant but c'mon mate, if you have a problem on your facebook site sort it out on your facebook site, not on here with a condescending attitude like that!

No offence, but it kinda feels like it's not the forum that has the problem.
My £10 a year has saved me £100's of pounds in garage bills and a huge amount of time. We have an administrator and a number of moderator's, who are there to see the smooth and polite running of the site. We don't have to put up with a constant stream of irrelevant drivel, and we only have to look at what we want to. We aren't subjected to constant adverts or promotions, with the exception of Banshee's "wellers", which is worth £10 in itself. My time is precious and so is this forum. Please go and moderate your FartBook forum as you see fit, but please don't try to get us to deal with your problems. They are just that, your problems. Thanks for stopping by. |

A long time ago a Derby Barrister told my late Father that good advice is not free. If its worth having it's worth paying for. And lets be honest £10 is not a fortune compared to a tank of fuel ? TBH some of the stuff on Facebook in general is so trite I pulled my plug on FB almost a year ago. |

I think Georgie is having a go at me, I quote
"Georgie Munro Dave Batter why even bother posting on here if your just going to be a complete c*nt about it... guess the forum is running low on members!! Or the drinks fund is running low!!" Someone asked about a second alt, I said I have a write up on it to do for this forum, I was asked if I would post to facebook I said NO, I posted a link to this forum, suggesting they join if they want the information Membership is the best tenner I have ever spent get it back at least ten fold every year. |
