Any advice for buying a spray gun and air line?
Hello everyone, I've bought a compressor so I can paint with better results, and also to waxoyl/dinitrol etc, maybe even a little media blasting.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Places to buy from, brands etc, I need a decent hose and spray gun to start with, any advice would be most welcome, thanks, Mark |

I have no experience of compressor spraying.
However, I do use air tools and the one thing I found out early on is DON'T get one of those curly elastic hoses. Seemed like a good idea at the time. You just spend your life fighting with it!!! As an aside, I got my compressor (3hp 100litre) secondhand from a guy in south Bucks, when I went to collect, it was immaculate so I asked him what it had been used for... ..."oh just inflating stuff for testing". He was a porn distributor!!! I jest not! I paid, loaded up and left. And before you ask... ...it did not come in a plain brown paper wrapper. (Belting ABAC comressor though!!!) |

depends on what you want to do with it, paint spraying/inflating tyres most small jobbies will do, CFM is what it is all about CUBIC FEET per MINUIT sand blasting needs loads more than can be run from a 13 amp socket unless you are just blasting very small components, Rick

Thanks for replys everyone!
I was looking at those curly hoses (ooerr) emjaybee and wondering about that, you've saved me some hassle there mate thanks you not get any free samples ?? Only a small compressor I have (wahey) so no big jobs, if I do do any blasting will just be cleaning components, maybe not worth risk of getting sand/glass etc stuck in things(!). Make sure bring plenty waxoyl down Alex, say twice as much should do it I get it all over the place (ahem), dammit, why did he have to mention porn |
