CleverIdea for a Boot build
I may use the Skate board Bearing Idea and the box section steel for an extra long pullout

Like the idea but being so long the sliders must be heavily engineered surely.

I like that, but does it need the tailgate to supprt the weight when the drawer is open?

Just one thing on safety, if you get a rear end shunt, the side pieces could penetrate the front seats...
I am especially careful when loading lengths of timber or tubing, that they are not behind any passengers, I place them at an angle. Uncle Rustic speaks again....

As soon as I see the pic I thought a minor rear end could be devastating for the occupants in the front.. |

I'm glad it's not only me looking at hazards.

lovely idea and great build, to get round the possible safety issues, how about a 45 degree cut in the side rails, then re joined with a board and screws just strong enough to hold it together for normal use, in the event of a rear end shunt the 45 angle will divert forward force to the side pulling the screws and diverting the rear most board alongside the foremost board, just an idea, Rick
