Default yet more on batteries

Got a Toughbook for auto diagnostics that have not been able to use for a while cos the battery failed, could not even use it with the charger connected seems not enough power, been looking for a replacement battery, horrendous prices, cheapest I could find was £107 plus shipping just too much, getting to the point of chucking the whole lot, but then thought pull battery apart, maybe I can get the cells on line, whoopy, found the cells are fully charged but neg line not connected to neg terminal, it has like all li-ion batteries a control board in built, cannot get to internals so just bridged with a wire neg battery to neg terminal, whalla it works, has not been on charge for months but is showing full on lappy, so as long as it charges OK looks like a cheap fix, Rick

aggressive off road tyres on wheels so just swap.
Aim to get stuck and be completely self sufficient in extraction, love getting muddy, 2ft deep is good but rare.
