Default Newbie from Gloucester.....

Hi all, I`ve been looking at getting a Pathfinder Aventura as the family is growing & need more room, so I thought I`d hook up on here to do more research. I currently own a 2003 BMW 330ci Convertible msport which is a joy to drive but with only 4 seats & lack of legroom in the back it`s now time for it to go .

I use a 2009 Toyota d4 auto pick up truck for work so I`m used to using the 4x4 when needed !

I`m looking forward to visiting this site more regularly

P.S. On Saturday I`m looking at a black 2008 autobox model, 94000 miles, fsh (no towbar), so we`ll see how we get on.....will post pictures if successful.
Regards

John

Welcome, there's a good article in the October edition of 4x4 magazine on buying secondhand Pathfinders.

Hi John, sorry not to have welcomed you any sooner, but a lot on my plate at the moment.
This is a great site with some great people, but most of our knowledge is Terrano based, then a lot on Patrols.
We do have a few Pathfinder owners, and a few Navara owners too.
As far as I am aware, there was an issue with the 2.5 litre engines on the Navara, which I assume are also on the Pathfinder, and a modification was done to help with oil circulation, so worth looking into that.

Welcome,
Rustic.

Welcome, can't help mechanically with pathfinders however I have seen one destroy the rear diff and spit the bits all over the ground on a fairly minor offroad excursion and this was done by a Nissan salesman demonstrating the capabilities of the vehicle to a bunch of farmers in New Zealand..he was very embarrassed to say the least..

I've never seen a decently modded one, maybe this could be the lab rat?

Thanks for the warm welcome folks.....I went for a looksy & road test in a 2008 Pathy, I wouldn`t buy an early one due to engine failures, but the later one ticks all the boxes (but never buy the first one I look at)...+ my wife likes it !
Will keep you in the loop..
