Default DVR

I have a DVR camera in my work van. Today I was very close to a fairly bad RTC. I was a witness so hung around to help the folks in the cars and traffic until the ambulances and plod turn up. Plod wants my details and asks if the DVR was working, yes I say. Can he have the recording please, yes says I. I get home, pop the memory card in the PC and guess which of all the many clips on there is corrupt? Yep, the very 30 seconds upto and including the crash

WTF!

yep I have found this many times, they are not the most reliable of devices, in fact I have found that I have yet to find a 90% reliable one, disappointing, Rick

Are you using the software for the DVR to playback ? I had issues with a cheap dash cam when I used W7 to playback. Then I used the mini disc with it's own drivers on and all was well agin

The system saves the video in chunks and so there is a few seconds where there is no recordings, this always seems to happen at the point you need to see.

never had a problem with mine , it records onto a micro sd card , in 3,or 5 minute segments , in fact some of the footage is currently being used to prosecute a doctor who crashed into me then drove off
