Caution if driving down M23/A23 to Brighton
On the 5th of October, 2014, there have been reports that there could be a potential high risk to road users on various roads running from Surbiton, down to Brighton's sea front, and the surrounding roads, from considerable contamination of the road surfaces with Oil, rust, mud and general metallic debris. Environmental Impact... We see several potential points of Impact upon the area including, but not limited to:- Major Slippery roads due to Oil contamination, Minor Damage to road surfaces Minor Damage to local wild life Major Damage and long term effects to local water ways. Major Damage to any accessible Dirt tracks in the area. Major Increased tyre damage risk from all the bits that will fall off these vehicles. Minor, shortages of Fuel in the local garages What we intend to do. Since the threat is beyond our control to stop, all we can do is follow along and effect a clean up operation. Nature of incident It has been brought to our attention that various Land Rover clubs are intending driving their Land Rovers from London to Brighton, and then meeting up on Madeira Drive, to talk about all things Land Rover, we therefore, also anticipate we may need to clear up huge piles of Bull's Faeces after the event. |
