Butterfly trap thing
Hi all I took my inter cooler off today to change the leak off pipes and noticed where the inter cooler pushes into the short rubber on the left there is a flap thing which seems to work off suction ? Could anyone tell me what it does and if I disconnect it by using the ball bearing trick in the vacume pipe would it make the truck go a little better ??

I think you are referring to the anti shake throttle on the inlet manifold, another of Nissans wonderful ideas that does not work such that they seem not to be able to decide when to fit one and when not to as not all have it, its function is to close the flap when the engine is shut down supposedly to shaking as it stops, so you do not want to be blanking the vac pipe, Rick

So as soon as I turn the key to stop engine the flap will close ?? But my truck really shakes bad when I turn off engine and out of interest I pulled the vac pipe off and tried it and it's the same so would that mean mine don't work. Thanks john

not just yours, the idea did not work, full stop, just like the auto brake adjusters on the rear up to 99, Rick

You need to make sure the flap is in the open position. Best bet is just take the ruddy thing out . Simples Oh and don't forget to blank off the holes .

When you switch off the engine they have a little kind of shake as it stops!
