Do NOT forget the MOT only says it was to code at the time it was done, you could still get nicked 100M down the road

I wouldn't go down that route myself either. Are you worried your terrano won't pass? |

There is no reason why a vehicle used for green landing should fail an mot, if there is then you need to seriously consider sorting it. Mots are for every road users safety.
Kind regards Russell. |

You were happy enough to talk about going down a engine transplant mod which would of been expensive and near impossible... And dodgy MOTs... But you won't think about changing your bumpers... you can get a proper decent front winch bumper for about £180! |

Consider that the bumpers could fail for good reason ie even at low speed you could cause a pedestrian a lot more suffering, your car may be mechanically sound but bodywork sticking out is a problem that needs assessing correctly.
Kind regards Russell. |

Dangerous Parts Mot will not help you !!
If the front end of your truck without the proper bumper is deemed dangerous you could fall foul of the Coctruction & Use Regulations 1986 under dangerous parts sub section 100 if you were pulled up by a Traffic Police Car the MoT would not be relevant and its endorsable.
Worse still if you have not declared the changes in full to your insurer you could find yourself with Third Party Road Traffic Act cover only. This means you are only insured for personal injury to others (not yourself) and have no damage cover whatsoever. You need to check that any modifications are recorded in your policy booklet do not rely on a verbal account only when the policy was taken out. This would also mean that in the event of an accident you could be sued personally through the High Court for damage to any other vehicle involved also by the local authority for damage to roadside furniture signs etc. Plus Ambulace and Fire Brigade turn out charges! This puts your home at risk if you are a homeowner. |

Well im fairly sure I still know a guy who will sort me out anyway, just means I have to cram into busy wembley at some point.
I cant see a problem with the bumpers myself, I can imagine they might want me to chop off the little tow lug that pretrudes the bumper though. The other thing I was worried about is no anti roll bars at the rear, the whole assembly is gone. oh and my exhaust (or lack of) |

Id just go get it tested and see what it fails on. No point trying to get around it any other way you might well be suprized might not need anything for an MOT.
Cheers Gav |
