Default Pesky Critters

I have had a mole at the wooded area at the bottom of the garden for some time ,but it never really bothered me as it stayed there under the trees in the long grass, but the cats caught one and brought it up to the house and let it get away. now there are mole hills all over my lawn, the little ba***rd is making a right mess. The cats ,bless them are trying to re capture the escape with no success to date.
I tried to flush him out by putting the hose pipe down the run and flooding it,but that didn't work .
Next I tried mouse traps Baited with salami ( read it on't tinternet) covered with a shoe box. No luck
It all reminds me of the the Jasper Carrot routine next its the office chair and a shot gun.
Unless you know a way to get the little sh*t

If you have not got a trap, they hate moth balls, a few in his little run should push him away.

Isnt there something about planting an empty wine bottle in its run supposed to work. Think its supposed to be the noise of the wind blowing across the top of the bottle. Personally Id give it a go and Im happy enough to drink the contents for you too before you plant the bottle

Something like that, a kiddies windmill stuck in the run makes a noise they don't like...

I'v tried the windmill thing before and it didn't seem to work. I really need to get rid of of it not just encourage it to move up the garden. It's WANTED, DEAD OR ALIVE !

Jonela...have a look at this unit, you will find one locally......Leroy Merlin perhaps.....a bit expensive but effective...

I wish I had moles to justify one, I just get to use them for my clients.......

If there is anyone in your area with working terriers the dogs should get mr mole as soon as he pops his head up

i used to catch moles.. i hunt rabbits and for some farms i would clean the fields of moles but only the nice farmers.. you want tunnel traps mate..

dont put traps in mole hills and a terrier can only get the mole if it pops its head out the top while said dog is there. chances are it wont be.. if the kids play in garden more mole hills will come and same again when it rains until moles are caught.

Thanks Larson for all the information and links etc that you sent me. You have been very helpful indeed and I was getting all excited about getting the little sh*t . Unfortunately I have been given instructions from senior management with responsibility for cute furry things ,that the mole is to be taken alive How this is gonna work I don't know,
Unless !
