Default MOT Testers and Previous Advisories

Im pretty much sure it happens but can MOT Testers see previous advisories on their system? Im obviously not a tester but common sense dictates that yes they can but wonder if we have anyone in the know.

yup. friend of mine is an MOT tester, it all comes up I think either before they start the MOT or after, but as said if you have the VIN its dead easy to look up.

So a lazy tester could simply fail on an old advisory without really caring or know what hes doing very easily.

Yes but... who would let the vehicle run for a whole year knowing there was a fault that usually can only get worse.

On the other hand, I have picked up an advisory for a chip in the windscreen...
6 MOT's later, still the same windscreen, and no further advisories... Now a chip can't get better can it.
Also had an advisory for the tow ball partially obscuring the number plate, again many years later, same number plate, no advisories...

So I doubt inspectors are looking at past history, after all, what they have in front of them is real.

I'll get more than an advisory if I go to a real mot station.
