I wish I had a two post lift for the Mav.
I was at KwikFit today, they were trying to sort my exhaust... and I was watching the equipment in their workshop.
If I was starting out again with tools, and equipment, I think I would consider a two post lift, to lift the Maverick ( and other cars) by the chassis, and have tons of room to work on wheels, brakes, waxoyl, exhaust etc, But I would need more headroom in my garage lol. I had a quick look on ebay and you can buy a 4 tonne lift for just over £1000 The two post look better than a normal 4 post lift, as you can lift the vehicle just a few inches and swap the wheels around in minutes. Just as long as the arms could reach the chassis and still be within it's lifting capacity. For domestic use, do they have to be inspected regularly, or do you use them until they break... ? Best regards, Rustic

Must admit, I'd love something like this.
I did see ages ago, a special tool where you jack the car up in its side. It was crazy, doing like 60 degree angles n crap |

I have to agree, but anything cheap to get off laying on my back has to be good, Rick

When I looked at the accidents of vehicles falling off the arms, most were associated with the arms moving from side to side when lifted.
Most, if not all, now have an arm locking mechanism to lock the arm. Centre of gravity is important to know, and if removing a large lump, engine and or gearbox, then the centre of gravity changes, and without additional support, can again topple off the lift. So training essential. But still would be nice to have.
